There are many selves in each of
us, even though we usually identify with only a few. There
are responsible selves and irresponsible selves, adult selves and child
selves, rational selves and creative selves, spiritual selves and
instinctual selves. Following is a list and brief description of some commonly found
selves which I put together for an article I had published in Yen magazine. This
is by no means an exhaustive list or even necessarily how you might name
each self, but it gives you an idea of the different types of selves in each
of us. You might like to consider which of these selves you identify with the most,
and which ones you might have disowned or are simply not conscious of.
